MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Kate Barnett

Hi, I’m Kate the founder of K8 Solutions and the Elev8 with K8 services. I’m a systems thinker, real estate all-rounder, proud wife and mum of two.

With over 18 years in real estate, from bookkeeper to director, I’ve walked every part of the agency journey. I’ve grown and managed teams, scaled businesses, purchased and sold rent rolls, and supported others to do the same. Before that, I spent eight years in an accounting firm, giving me a solid grounding in investment, financial systems, and business fundamentals.

I’m at my best when I’m building something, whether it’s a smooth-running workflow, a high-performing team, or a furniture project in the shed. I love blending structure with creativity, bringing clarity to the overwhelmed, and helping agency owners fall back in love with the businesses they’ve built.

I live by the idea that you should Own it. Love it. Enjoy it.

Outside of work, I’m a wife to a wonderful husband and a mum to two beautiful young adults. I’m always up for a challenge and happiest with a coffee or bubbles in one hand, helping others achieve more in their lives.

A Not-So-Typical Journey: From Bakery Packer to K8 Solutions

My career kicked off packing bread at Cowleys Bakery while studying business computing. I soon pivoted to financial planning, earning my diploma and diving into computer network management at Crosby Dalwood & Co in Kent Town. From there, I became a bookkeeper for Twelftree Estate, then managed properties and administration at Semmens Property. I took the leap to start my own agency, Nett Property, before launching We Connect Property. After more than nine years in the field, I embraced the adventure of founding K8 Solutions.

I have a dog called Brax!

Brax is an English Staffy that thinks he is little but is not!

- Wiggly Butt - His whole body wiggles when they're happy!

- Snort & Snore - Brax snorty, Snores and Farts Sooooo Much.

- “Tough Dog" No just a Baby - Despite his tough look, he is a sook. He is afraid of birds or loud sneezes.

- Velcro Dog Vibes - Unless he is asleep snoring he will follow you everywhere including the toilet. Personal space is not a concept he understands.

- Smiles for Days - He has the Best smile, happiest when on a walk or sitting next to us.

- Chatter Box - He “talks” back with little growly rumbles, huffs, and sighs.
